Last October, our school secretary, Maggie Wood, travelled to Vizianagaram in southern India to work with the charity Brighter Future who care for orphaned children aged between 4 and 16.

Whilst Maggie was there she realised the struggle the charity faced to get children to medical appointments as this involved a mile walk to the nearest bus stop, carrying or pushing children on bicycles and several crowded bus journeys.  It became obvious that a minibus would solve the problem and she asked the school to help raise the £1500 needed.

The school went into action and through various fund raising events raised the money which was then sent to Brighter Future.

We were delighted to receive photos showing the happy children with their new minibus. Click here to see the photos.
